Products & Services

While QBT's main goal is to develop disruptive Bitcoin mining systems to have competitive advantage in its mining activity, selected partners will have access to proprietary mining hardware and software, as well as mining pool and data services.

Mining software

Method A

Quantum Blockchain Technologies PLC (QBT) Machine Learning Research Team x has developed a new Bitcoin (BTC) mining technology, called Method A.

Unlike current standard BTC mining approach, based on a search strategy, where the mining rig runs as many Tera hashes per second as possible, during the circa 10 minutes allowance for each block, with no special criteria on which hashes to process first, also described as brute force, or blind search, QBT’s Method A, decides, at the beginning of each block hashing, whether to hash using a traditional search, i.e. brute force, or a spaced confined search.

Extensive Lab tests, at a lower difficulty than the current, training complex neural networks, have showed that hashing with Method A criteria, can improve the ability to find a winning hash, compared to current blind search, used by virtually all Bitocin mining rigs, by taking advantage of a specific behaviours of SHA-256 computations: by doing so gaining a statistical advantage over blind search.

Method A has been designed as a SaaS (Software as a Service) client-server application by modifying the mining rigs' operating system, the corresponding firmware and software driver, to act as a client. The Method A server, where the AI engine runs, receives data from the mining rig, the client, returning new parameters, at the beginning of each new block hashing computation, reducing the number of hashing computations required to find a winning hash.

Method B

Quantum Blockchain Technologies PLC (QBT) Machine Learning Research Team y has developed a new Bitcoin (BTC) mining strategy, called Method B.

Unlike current standard BTC mining approach, based on a search, where the mining rig runs as many Tera hashes per second as possible, during the circa 10 minutes allowance for each block, with no special criteria on which hashes to process first, also described as brute force, or blind search, QBT’s Method B, guides the search, by deciding where the most promising winning hashes are likely to be found in the 2^1024 search space.

Method B performs an informed search using the degree of freedom made available different header’s parametersthereby selects portions of the search space to be explored by SHA-256. This approach avoids processing a large number of hashes, obtaining the target result, u.e. the a winning hash, in less time.

Extensive Lab tests, at a lower difficulty than the current, have shown that solo mining hashing guided with Method B, can materially improve the ability to find a winning hash compared to standard search, while saving, at the same time, energy.

Method B has been designed as a SaaS (Software as a Service) client-server application via a module upgrade to uploading an upgrade to the mining rigs' firmware. The QBT server, where the Method B engine runs, receives data from the mining rig, the client, and responding with a search parameter, which increases the probability of finding a winning hash.

Method C

Quantum Blockchain Technologies PLC (QBT) Machine Learning Research Team has developed a new Bitcoin (BTC) mining strategy, called Method C.

Unlike current standard BTC mining approach, based on a search, where the mining rig runs as many Tera hashes per second as possible, during the circa 10 minutes allowance for each block, with no special criteria on which instances of the header to process first, also described as brute force, or blind search, QBT’s Method C software versions is organised as an Oracle, which decide which header is likely to generate a wining hash, above a certain difficult target.

Method C AI software Oracle, which runs on the operating system of the mining rig, performs a real time assessment of different headers starting from the job received from the pool before submitting them to the hashing boards This approach avoids processing a large number headers which have very little, or no probability to generate an hash above the pool target. Method C software Oracle has been designed as a SaaS (Software as a Service) client-server application. The QBT server, where the Method C engine runs, updates the key parameters on the software Oracle installed on the control board of the mining rig, the client.Unlike the hardware version of the Oracle, the software version assess headers, rather than instances of the header, hence it can be run by the processor of the control board, without causing any idle cycle of the hashing boards.

Mining hardware

Method C

Quantum Blockchain Technologies PLC (QBT) Machine Learning Research Team has developed a new Bitcoin (BTC) mining strategy, called Method C.

Unlike current standard BTC mining approach, based on a search, where the mining rig runs as many Tera hashes per second as possible, during the circa 10 minutes allowance for each block, with no special criteria on which hashes to process first, also described as brute force, or blind search, QBT’s Method C, organised as an Oracle, decide for each specific instance of an header whether it is likely to generate a wining hash, or not.

Method C AI Oracle performs a real time assessment of different header’s parameters before submitting them to SHA-256 and decides whether they are worth processing, or can be skipped. This approach avoids processing a large number of hashes, obtaining the target result, u.e. the a winning hash, in less time.

Extensive Lab tests, at the current level of difficulty on recent Blockchain blocks and and at lower difficulty, have shown that selective mining hashing guided using Method C AI Oracle, can materially improve the ability to find a winning hash compared to standard search, while saving, at the same time, energy.

Method C has been designed as a SaaS (Software as a Service) client-server application. The QBT server, where the Method C engine runs, updates the key parameters on the client side of the AI model.

Given the real time requirements for Method C AI Oracle, to process in advance each single input to a double SHA-256 lane on the ASIC chip, its hardware implementation on the same chip is necessary, hence ASIC chips for bitcoin mining manufacturers will need to get access to QBT’s IPs for the AI Oracle and integrate them on their ASIC existing chip architectures.
